Meet The Directors

Paul Pierrepont
Started his career with an apprenticeship at Persimmon Homes straight after leaving high school, then spent several years gaining experience as a bricklayer across a range of clients and sites. In 2015 he made the move into management, broadening his skill set across team leadership, health and safety, and customer care. That blend of hands-on trade experience and people management gave him the grounding to take the next step, and in September 2022 he co-founded Apex Yorkshire with the aim of building a company that delivers quality work and looks after both clients and lads on site.

Riki Chappell
Did his apprenticeship with the local authority and competed in regional bricklaying competitions — never quite taking the top spot, though he reckons he should have. At 19 he took the leap into house building and never looked back. Around 2010 he teamed up with fellow director Dale and their long-serving, loyal labourer Joe to form what they proudly called Yorkshire’s No.1 gang. A few years later, alongside Paul — their former supervisor and a fellow bricklayer — they decided it was time to be their own bosses, and Apex was formed in 2022. Best decision they ever made.

Dale Little
Born in Glasgow and moved to the Isle of Arran aged 2, where opportunities were thin on the ground, so he took an apprenticeship with the local builder. Sent to Reid Kerr College at 16, he placed 4th of 52 in the Scottish bricklaying championships and became the first student in four years to win the coveted Silver Trowel. After stints in Stoke, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield, he finally put down roots in Leeds. Nearly 6ft, favourite colour green, can’t stand Rangers, lives on sweets and chips, and was once — just once — mistaken for Tom Hardy.

We specialise in brickwork for new build housing, blockwork and structural masonry, as well as site management and labour supply. Our experienced team is equipped to support every stage of a project, from early groundwork through to completion, ensuring work is carried out to specification and to a consistently high standard.

At Apex, we take a practical, hands-on approach. We stay closely involved on site, working alongside clients and other trades to keep projects organised, coordinated and running smoothly. Our focus is on clear communication, efficient delivery and maintaining quality throughout helping to avoid delays and keep everything on track.

We understand the demands of modern construction, particularly on large-scale housing developments where consistency, reliability and attention to detail are key. That’s why we’ve built our team and processes around delivering high-volume work without compromising on quality.
